One of our favourite side dishes in the menu has to be the Business Day on Thursday. During this afternoon key stakeholders within the food industry will share their perspective on the latest innovations within the industry
The Business Day will take place on the 9th of June, 2022. The entire afternoon (14h – 18h) can be spent attending interesting keynotes, pitches, panels and with plenty of opportunities to interact with the stakeholders.

From farm to fork
The red thread throughout the program is “from farm to fork” which will give you an overview of innovative approach at all levels.

Koen Uyttenhoeve
Koen Uyttenhove is Founder of ODYC Digital Innovation which is a digital innovation hub within the European SmartAgriHubs (SAH) network.Koen focuses on digitization projects around smart connected products, processes, people and customers in different industries. He also supports agri-food companies in the digitization steps to realize the green deal challenges. ODYC is a startup company which advises companies within the agro/food industry towards the necessary digitalization and innovation. ODYC wants to involve farmers as end users and their equipment to create an efficient system with advantages for all stakeholders.

As Chief Marketing Officer. Patrick has 30 years of experience within marketing, sales and leadership from holding managing positions in several international companies such as Amcor, DS Smith and General Electric. Filip Wallays
Filip Wallays has graduated as Master of Sciene in Bio-Engineering, and is co-CEO of Agristo. He started his career as engineer in the company in 2006, and worked in different departments (Personnel, Purchase, Sales), until he became co-CEO in 2018.Since 1986 Agristo has developed into a world player for the development and production of frozen potato products. As a Belgian company with their headquarters in Harelbeke and more production units in Nazareth, Wielsbeke, Tilburg (The Netherlands) they specialize in offering an extremely wide range of fries and derived potato products, made to measure for each client. As a private label producer, Agristo partners with retail and food service players worldwide. Agristo manages the entire production chain, from seed potatoes to distribution. Olivier Mehuys
’Boer’’ (farmer) Olivier Mehuys grew up as the son of a farmer, but his calling came later. After high school, he chose to go to college. But Olivier couldn’t get used living in the city and he soon returned to Keiem (Diksmuide) after his studies, to work as a farmer.His studies in Commercial Science gave him a solid foundation, but according to Olivier, he continues to "constantly google" to learn. One of his inspirations is American Joel Salatin, who was voted most innovative farmer by Times Magazine. Following Salatin's example, Olivier today also practices regenerative or "restorative" farming. It is a farming method that pays great attention to the quality of production but also to healthy soil and environment. On the farm of Boer Olivier you will find Salers cattle, Belgian Blue (Belgisch wit-blauw), chickens and fruit trees of old varieties. Olivier combines different techniques that ensure that he is farming in a very sustainable way. And that, without a doubt, contributes to the fight against climate change.
